Tractor turning tips

The so-called tractor-turning refers to a 180-degree change in the direction of the tractor. How can we make the tractor safe for a U-turn? Here are two aspects of the selection of the turning point of the tractor and the basic operation of the U-turn:

(1) Choice of place

Turning the tractor must strictly abide by the provisions of the road traffic regulations: Motor vehicles should not turn around at railway crossings, crosswalks, bends, narrow roads, bridges, steep slopes, ramps, or road sections that are prone to danger. Therefore, we must choose a small traffic intersection, a flat, wide, solid road safety shoulder; according to the width of the road and traffic conditions, the tractor can be divided into a U-turn U-turn or combination of reverse and reverse. If you do not have the above conditions, you can choose to use the open space on the roadside to turn around.

(2) The basic operation of U-turn

1 Turn the car once. In the wider road, it should be applied as much as possible to make a U-turn. This method is quick, convenient, economical and safe. If there is a traffic commander, a U-turn signal will be issued in advance and the permission of the commander will be given and the vehicle will be lowered.

2 combination of reverse and reverse. If the road is narrow, you can't turn it around once. You can use the combination of forward or backward turning.

When turning around, first select the appropriate section and send a signal to turn left, slowly drive the car to the side of the road, turn the steering wheel to the left, and the current wheel is approaching the roadside or the front edge of the vehicle approaches the obstacle. , Lightly step on the brake pedal, and when the vehicle has not completely stopped, turn the steering wheel quickly to the right, turn the front wheel to the new direction required for retreat, and immediately stop the car. When retreating, you should first observe the situation behind the car, then start slowly, and turn the steering wheel to the right. When the car is back to approach the curb or the rear edge of the tractor approaches obstacles, immediately step on the clutch pedal and gently step on the steering wheel. Stop the brake pedal and use the timing before parking to quickly turn the steering wheel to the left. Bring the front wheel to the new direction required for advancement. At this time, if it still does not turn around, you can make a retreat or advance again, and repeat it several times until it is completed.

When turning around, if there is a special situation (the road is inclined or narrow), besides the forward, backward and stop, besides using the foot brake, the hand brake must be used to stop the car and then move forward or backward. When operating, hold the steering wheel in one hand, hold the hand brake lever in one hand, slowly relax the clutch pedal, and at the same time, properly pedal the throttle pedal, and loosen the hand brake when most of the clutch is engaged. The rod moves the tractor slowly and smoothly forward or backward. In the process of turning around, you should step forward and leave behind. Since the distance between each wheel approaching the roadside is not equal, when judging the parking space, the wheels closest to the curb should be used as the front wheel. Restrictions: When proceeding, the bumper shall prevail. When retreating, the rear or rear bumper may prevail. Do not touch the obstacle.

When turning around in a more dangerous area, the rear of the car should be on the safe side and the front of the car should be on the safe side. It is better to carry out a few more advances and exits, not to overdrive the roadside in order to ensure a safe turning.
